Here is a snapshot of some of the staff at HCPC. They're real people, with real challenges and real personalities, just like you. Maybe you'll see a face you recognize, or maybe you want to put a face with a name.
Rev. Lyle Reece
Minister of Worship and Church Life
Lyle has been in pastoral ministry for more than 25 years in Texas and New Mexico. He and his lovely wife, Amy, have three grown daughters who live away from home. Lyle's and Amy's prayer is that the wonderful people of Albuquerque can be served by and introduced to Christ through their ministry and the community of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church. They can testify to both God's greatness and His providence in their years of ministry.
Dr. Marty Goehring
Minister of Counseling and Spiritual Formation
Marty Goehring has been the Director of Formation Counseling Services, HCPC’s ministry of Christian counseling, since 1994. Among his greatest joys are exploring different forms of prayer, joining with family and friends in the adventure of life, living out the Christ life in community, assisting the process of Christ being formed in people’s lives, and making his five grandchildren laugh…a lot!
Rev. Justin Richter
Minister of Discipleship & Mission
Justin loves what he does. He has an amazing wife, Kara, and has a six year old son and five year old identical twin girls. His greatest passion is to know Jesus and see His kingdom break into our broken world. It should also be known that he is a Lobo for life!
Minister of Children and Youth
Gene grew up in Heights and returns as Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries. He’s thrilled to serve with his wife, Tish, and their two children as they honor the legacy of his grandfather, Dick DeKeno, by impacting the next generation. Gene is recognized as a leader at Group’s KidMin Conference. He loves food, especially chocolate, peanut butter and sushi, but not in the same meal.
Annette has been at Heights since 2012 in the position of Business Administrator. With over 30 years of experience in commercial real estate administration, marketing, property management, contract management and human resources, she is the perfect person to help keep ministry moving. A former ski instructor, Annette enjoys skiing with her family as well as hiking, camping and trips to Santa Fe.
Jerry trained and received his Facilities Management certification and skills with GE NASA Space Division in Clear Lake Texas. He has also worked in the Facilities Management field for Exxon/ Mobile in Baytown, Texas. Jerry has been married to Sheila for 29 wonderful years. Between them, they have one daughter and two sons, all of whom are still in Texas. His loves, besides his wife and kids, are sports, especially basketball, golf and fishing.
Lori has been on staff at HCPC for 11 years as pipe organist and choir accompanist. She loves to make the Lord's praise glorious! Lori is committed and passionate about praying for our city, state and nation. She longs for Americans to wake up and return to the Lord! She also has a missionary heart and has served the Lord in international contexts together with her husband of 45 years. Lori and John have three grown children and two adorable grandchildren. Backyard "birding" is one of Lori's dearest delights!
Office and Facility Coordinator
Sheryl coordinates the use of the church facility for all ministry and church programs, as well as events and use by a variety of community groups. Sheryl’s work experience as a manager with the City of Albuquerque and her long-time connection with Heights are great assets for the job. Sheryl and husband, Garth, have five children and twelve grandchildren. Sheryl enjoys being a part of the Heights Cumberland community and serving God in her role as Facility Coordinator.
Gary has been leading worship at Heights for a little over a year now. He is a lifelong musician and native of Albuquerque. He continues to court Jennifer his bride of 27 years and loves hugging on his three rockin' children (even if he has to wrestle them to the ground to do so).
Worship Service Coordinator for Cloud and Bridge
Daniel first learned of his calling to pastoral ministry at age 19. After a 10 year career in engineering, the time was right to begin training. Daniel's experience as a lay leader for many years gave him a passion for helping people discover how God wants to use them each and every day, for his glory. Daniel is the part-time Worship Service Coordinator for Cloud and Bridge, the Saturday night worship service and ministry of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
